Welcome to Gateway Campus
Gateway is a dedicated campus for young adults aged 16–18. Our expert staff support and prepare students to achieve their goals in work and life, helping them to develop new skills and grow as confident individuals.
Gateway Campus provides an inclusive provision which is safe and supportive offering a range of learning programmes and vocational tasters with access to practical work rooms. These facilities allow students to gain hands-on experience in industries such as catering, hair and beauty, art, and many more.
Gateway learning programmes build on students’ existing skills while introducing new ones, equipping them with the knowledge and abilities needed to progress and grow. These programmes help open doors to new opportunities in work and life, supporting students to develop as individuals.
Gateway may be the ideal choice for young people who need a more nurturing and supportive environment, particularly those seeking progression from specialist provision, alternative provision, or home education.
Steps to Success
Enrolment
Following an Initial Advice and Guidance interview, where you’ll complete pre-enrolment assessments and any required enrolment paperwork. During this meeting discussions are held to have the opportunity to choose your vocational pathway.
Studying
Regular attendance gives you the best chance to succeed and achieve your goals. Following BKSB assessments students are grouped according to levels in both maths and English. In addition to math, English and the vocational pathway students follow a personal development curriculum and have the opportunity to undertake work experience.
Achievement
During your course, you will continue to develop your English and maths skills, alongside key employability skills that will support you in achieving your goals. Regular progress review and updates are held throughout the year which support students keeping on track to achieve.
Progression
Successfully completing your course can be the next step towards higher-level study, employment, or further education helping you move closer to your future goals.
"Nathan arrived at Gateway following home education and, through no fault of his own, had no formal qualifications. After just one year, he left Gateway having achieved GCSEs in both maths and English and progressed on to a Level 3 science course.
Through his experiences at Gateway, including taking part in a residential visit, Nathan developed his confidence, self-esteem, and resilience."
