Our expert staff are there to support and prepare students, helping them to achieve their goals in work and life, as they learn new skills and grow as individuals. Gateway campus provides a safe, supportive, and aspirational environment offering 'learning programmes', and 'vocational tasters' with access to practical work rooms. The practical work rooms give students the opportunity to experience industries such as catering, hair and beauty, and art. Gateway 'learning programmes' build on existing skills and teach new skills to students, giving them the skills and knowledge needed to progress and grow by opening doors to new opportunities in work and life as they grow as individuals. Steps to Success Enrolment Choose your vocational taster and contact the Gateway Campus to discuss your different options. You will attend an Initial Advice and Guidance interview, where you will complete pre-enrolment assessments and any enrolment paperwork. Studying Once your level has been confirmed you will be assigned a class to attend; whether this is classroom-based or online. Regular attendance is key to success! Achievement During your course you will continue to develop your English and maths skills in addition to key employability skills which will support you to achieve your goals. Progression On successful completion of your course, you can 1) progress to the next level of study in your subject, or 2) use your qualifications to access employment and/or other educational opportunities. Youth Club Youth Club runs on a weekly basis after college hours, it is an opportunity for staff and students to build relationships in a less formal environment and for students to build positive relationships with others in a safe place. Enrichment Join our pan ability football team! Take part in after college training sessions and have the opportunity to join matches and competitions. Workshops There are maths and English workshops which run twice a week. These workshops give students an opportunity to use these workshops to catch up on any work you feel you need more help with or have missed. Resilience workshops are held regularly to help build student confidence. Boxing for Wellbeing Boxing for wellbeing is an exciting activity to exercise the mind and body, and helps to build fitness and confidence. FREE Breakfast Club Our FREE breakfast club is a quiet place to set you up for the day to support your wellbeing and learning. #thisgirlcan Campaign This Girl Can Campaign aims to support and celebrate women of all ages and abilities involved in sport and activity. Body-positive and inclusive, the campaign celebrates active women who are doing their thing no matter how they look or how well they do it. ‘Student of the Week’ Reward Student of the week is a reward for the student who has impressed staff the most that week. Be it an improvement in attendance, kindness, hard work, determination or resilience. The chosen student will receive a £10 'love to shop' voucher. Fusion lunch club This is a space available to all students at lunchtime. This space includes pool tables, ping pong tables, Xboxes and Wiis with lots of comfy places to sit should you just prefer to watch. Parking Free parking can be found in nearby streets where there are no resident permit parking restrictions. Arriving by bus Gateway Campus is located close to Blackpool town centre between Hornby Road and Reads Avenue and is accessible from main bus routes from both north and south routes. Blackpool Transport bus routes and maps can be found on their website. Arriving by tram The Gateway Campus is situated inland from the promenade with a 10-15 minute walk from tramlines. Accessibility Disabled parking is available at Gateway Campus and ramps provide accessible routes to the building. Inside the building, a lift provides access to all floors. Hearing loop accessibility is available at reception.
