Course SummaryThe qualification is aimed at learners who are looking to progress to employment in the esports industry, possibly via an apprenticeship in a related industry, or whose aspirations may also be to progress to Level 3 qualifications. The qualification is endorsed by The British Esports Association as being suitable for learners wanting to work in this industry. This means that it will be recognised by employers in a range of roles. Entry RequirementsBTEC Level 2 Award in Esports Qualification ObtainedBTEC Diploma in ESports Learning and Teaching MethodsIn our newly state-of-the-art furnished esports suite, we offer cutting-edge teaching and learning methods designed to elevate Esport skills to new heights. Through hands-on practice sessions, access to comprehensive resources, and engaging peer-to-peer learning opportunities, learners gain invaluable insights and refine their abilities. Learners taking this qualification will study the following units: Unit 3: Streaming for Esports Learners will develop the knowledge, understanding and practical skills to produce and edit live-streams. Unit 4: Plan for an Esports Event Learners will develop a plan for an esports event and then pitch it to an audience who will provide feedback. Learners will use this feedback to revise their plan. Unit 5: Start an Enterprise in Esports Learners will develop a plan for an enterprise within the esports industry, and pitch this to an audience. They will review their plan using feedback they receive. Unit 6: Design an Esports Game Learners will examine different games and gaming principles. They will develop their skills in planning and concepting, as well as creating an esports game design document. Assessment MethodsLearners are assessed using a variety of styles to help them develop a broad range of transferable skills. Learners are given opportunities to: Present the findings of their own research Use case studies to explore complex or unfamiliar situations Carry out projects for which they have choice over the direction and outcomes Demonstrate practical and technical skills using appropriate processes We encourage learners to apply their learning in realistic contexts using scenarios and realistic activities that will permit them to draw on and apply their learning.
