What will I learn? Where could this course take me? Course Summary The conferences and events industry has undergone some major changes over the last couple of years. This means that now, post pandemic, the sector is booming and growing at a fast pace. This vibrant sector has a multitude of career options including: wedding planners, events marketing, fundraising co-ordinator and meeting organisers. Blackpool has an exciting, varied and evolving events sector with a brand-new state of the art conference and events centre now fully open at the Winter Gardens. This Level 2 course will give you an introduction into an exciting and varied industry. This is a 12-week study programme, learning takes place at Bispham Campus – Thursday Mornings 9am – 12 noon Entry Requirements This course is for adults aged 19 and over who are seeking to gain qualifications within the fundamentals of event planning. You will also need to complete an entry assessment, and we will invite you to have an informal discussion with the Course Tutor. a successful interview with a tutor the ability to study independently a genuine interest in the subject good communication skills hardworking approach towards the industry Qualification Obtained Level 2 Certificate in Event Planning Qualification ObtainedCertificate in Event Planning Learning and Teaching Methods Modules This qualification consists of 5 units which cover: Planning an event Event reviewing and evaluation Event marketing Human resources in events Communication and customer service Industry Placement and Field Trips Industry placement and field trips are not relevant to this course. The course will be taught using a blended delivery model, 3 Hours per week in the classroom and additional 1-hour online workshop. You will be expected to undertake 3 hours minimum independent study outside of the timetabled hours. Our expert tutors understand that everyone learns in different ways, so they use a range of teaching and assessment methods to enable everyone to achieve their potential. This exciting qualification is a demanding course and required a significant amount of commitment and motivation. This programme incorporates periods of self-study, this means you will be expected to devote additional time outside of the timetabled hours to your studies. Digital skills and e-learning are key elements of all our courses. We will use a range of online apps to support and enhance your learning. Don’t worry your tutors will guide you through these technologies and you will be introduced to them in the first couple of sessions.
