Summary

The Business Skills apprenticeship has a highly transferable set of knowledge, skills and behaviours that can be applied in all sectors. This includes small and large businesses alike; from the public sector, private sector and charitable sector.

The role may involve working independently or as part of a team and will involve developing, implementing, maintaining, and Upskilling services within the business. Business professional develop key skills and behaviours to support their own progression towards management responsibilities.

The Business Skills Advanced Apprenticeship can help you develop your career in the following roles:

On completion, apprentices may choose to register as Associate members with the Chartered Management Institute, to support their professional career development and progression.

What will I learn?

Industry placement, field trips and guest speakers

The Apprentice must be in full time employment, with a contract of employment. The employer must be in agreement to allow the Skills Coach and Specialist Practitioner access to the learner.

How will I learn?

The course is delivered solely in the workplace with teaching being delivered via our online E-Portfolio, through 1:1 delivery with your skills coach and training from your employer. There is a requirement to spend at least six hours per week in off-the-job training.

This apprenticeship will identify and improve your skills, knowledge and behaviours needed to become a Business Administrator, such as:

  • IT
  • Record and document production
  • Project management
  • Decision making
  • Communication
  • Stakeholders
  • Relevant Regulation

Expert tutors

All staff involved in the delivery of adult education courses within the College are approved to teach the subjects and modules they deliver.

The approval process ensures that staff delivering a given programme are appropriately qualified and, where appropriate, possess relevant technical and industrial experience and professional practice.

How will I be assessed?

How will I be assessed?

By the end of the apprenticeship, you will be able to demonstrate your skills, knowledge and behaviours in areas of business Admin.

These will be assessed at the end of the qualification by the awarding organisation, the assessments will consist of:

  • Test of knowledge using scenarios with questions
  • Competency-based interview with an End Point Assessor
  • Portfolio of evidence produced by the student
  • Professional discussion relating to your CPD activity with the End Point Assessor.
