Business Management - T Level

Summary

One of the real advantages of a T Level in Business Management and Administration is that it can lead to such a wide variety of potential careers in numerous industry sectors. At the same time, it teaches a set of invaluable skills that will serve you throughout your career, no matter which route you decide to take. Developing strategies and techniques that can help you manage projects, people, finances and systems successfully will make you a highly sought after individual in the UK jobs market. Plus, being able to demonstrate strong management behaviours also opens up opportunities for rapid progression.

In addition to learning the theoretical side of management and administration, T level students also undertake an extended 9 week work placement. This gives them the chance to apply this newly acquired knowledge in real world scenarios. It's also an ideal opportunity to gain CV worthy work experience and potentially secure permanent employment and/or a degree apprenticeship as some of our T Levels students have already done. There's also the opportunity to pursue business-related subjects at degree level once you've completed your T Level. You might want to consider one of the Business Management degrees we offer here.

What will I learn?

Essential skills: English and Maths

All school leavers at B&FC are encouraged to continue developing their English and maths skills as higher ability in both these subjects is linked to long-term career success and increased earning potential - irrespective of how well you performed at GCSE. If, however, you achieve a GCSE Grade 3 or less in either subject, you will also have the opportunity to work towards re-sitting these to enhance your paper-based qualifications. This won’t delay your career journey because you will be undertaking this programme of study at the same time as your chosen subject.

Industry placement, field trips and guest speakers

You will be required to complete an industry placement with an employer, which will last for a minimum of 45 working days (between 315 – 420 hours)

Industry Placements are managed by an appointed Workplace Co-ordinator within the curriculum area who maintains liaisons with employers, performs visits and logs required documents such as insurance.

This is a full-time course, involving 3 days a week spent at College and 2 days a week on work placement in a business environment. We will also expect you to spend at least 3 hours a week on independent learning.

At College, teaching is delivered in groups and supported by group activities and discussions. One-to-one support is also provided to help with completing written assignments.

When you start the course we will assign you a progress tutor who will support you throughout your time here.

Their role is to help you in setting academic and personal targets, identifying career plans, developing employability skills and monitoring your progress to make sure you realise your full potential.
