Education Training (Teacher Education) - Level 4

The Certificate in Education and Training Level 4 is a qualification for those who intend to work as a trainer, instructor or demonstrator rather than a full-time teacher in the post-compulsory sector of education.
You will develop theoretical knowledge and practical skills to enable you to plan and deliver education and training.
You must have a minimum of a Level 3 qualification in the subject you intend to teach in.
You must have a Level 3 Award in Education and Training
You must be able to access a minimum of 30 hours of teaching practice.
Modules and Assessment
Teaching and Learning Methods
The class is one evening a week for 4 hours over 20 weeks. Delivery is by presentations, workshops, student participation, observations and work placement.
You will be supported by the course tutors and by a subject specialist mentor, both of whom will observe you teaching and work closely with you to develop your presentation skills.
We would expect private study time (research/background reading/creation of drafts and final reports) to take an extra 10 hours a week.

All staff involved in the delivery of adult education courses within the College are approved to teach the subjects and modules they deliver. The approval process ensures that staff delivering a given programme are appropriately qualified and, where appropriate, possess relevant technical and industrial experience and professional practice.
