This is a knowledge-only qualification therefore a placement is not required. Successful completion of the course will equip you to progress to the Level 2 Diploma in Care. Within these sessions there will be tutor delivery, questions and answers, discussion, observation, group work tasks and individual tasks. It is expected that you will complete a minimum of 3 hours’ independent study each week, outside of the class, to complete your assignments. The following mandatory units are covered within this qualification: • Principles of Communication in Adult Social Care Settings • Principles of Personal Development in Adult Social Care Settings • Principles of Diversity, Equality and Inclusion in Adult Social Care Settings • Principles of Safeguarding and Protection in Health and Social Care • Introduction to Duty of Care in Health, Social Care or Children’s and Young People’s Settings • Understand the Role of the Social Care Worker • Understand Person-Centred Approaches in Adult Social Care Settings • Understand Health and Safety in Social Care Settings • Understand How to Handle Information in Social Care Settings Industry Placement and Field Trips This is a knowledge-only qualification; there is no industry placement and no field trips as part of the course.
