You will learn and master some of the fundamentals of computing, these may include: Introduction to emails Introduction to the internet Searching the internet Staying safe online Introduction to Microsoft Word Creating documents, editing, formatting, saving and printing files Introduction to online shopping Creating an account and making an online purchase The course covers topics from the above strands and supports learners on a weekly basis with a guided lesson plan that is written for and tailored to the needs of the group. There are three strands to Let's Get Digital, course content will cover many of the following topics based on the needs of the group. Digital for home Shopping Online shopping offers convenience, a wide selection of products, competitive prices, and the ability to compare items easy, all from the comfort of your own home. Banking Having an understanding of online banking will enable you to manage your finances, pay bills and transfer funds securely, anywhere with your phone or on your home computer. Benefits Applying for benefits can be timely process, from filling the application form to the approval process. Applying online can greatly streamline the process, ensuring you receive the support you need efficiently. Bills Learn how to save time, paperwork and stress by managing and paying your monthly bills online. Social Media In an era of Information and Technology, connecting with social media can open doors to vast networking opportunities, building relationships and brand awareness - empowering both individuals and businesses. Health Not only is there a wealth of online resources and advice for keeping fit and healthy, you can now book appointments and request prescriptions online with your local GP. This is great for ensuring timely refills, receiving personalised reminders and enabling you to look after your health and wellbeing. E-safety It is very important to have an understanding of e-safety at home. This will ensure online privacy, protection against cyber threats and digital security, for you and your loved ones. These courses are accredited, and you will gain a certifcate if you are successful in completing the qualification.
