Course Overview

This City and Guilds (C&G) Level 2 course in 2D Computer Aided Design (CAD) will provide delegates with an introduction to the discipline, covering a range of CAD principles underpinning the design, manufacture and operation of industrial engineering systems.

The course is ideal for anyone already working in the design or engineering sector, or thinking of developing a career in these sectors.

On this course you will benefit from an introduction to the production of 2D CAD orthographic drawings using Autodesk AutoCAD.

The primary aims of this course are:

  • To provide the knowledge and skills necessary to be able to output a 2D drawing layout
  • To meet the standards required of C&G to enable the awarding of the certificate.

Entry Requirements

No prior qualifications are required although a working knowledge of CAD would be useful.

Students should be familiar with Microsoft Windows-based computer systems.

This 16-week course is delivered in weekly 3-hour sessions by our expert tutors at Lancashire Energy HQ.

Candidates will create drawing frames and 2D orthographic drawings using the full range of available AutoCAD tools.

This course is very hands-on with theory embedded within the practical delivery.

There is no independent learning required on this course.

You will receive high quality instruction and guidance from our Autodesk-approved trainers with more than 20 years' industrial CAD experience.
