Course Overview
Train for a fascinating career working with animals with our Level 2 Animal Science programme. You will explore the areas of animal health, handling and welfare as well as the principles of animal behaviour to prepare you for working in this growing industry. Local field trips and a relevant work placement bring your subject to life and also allow you to develop your practical skills. Expert tutors offer lots of support, including dedicated GCSE classes as part of your one-year study programme. Afterwards, you could apply for our level 3 programme or begin your career straight away in animal care or management.
Entry Requirements
You will need GCSE Maths or English at grade 3 (previously grade D) and GCSE Science, also at grade 3.
If you are a year 11 student applying for this programme, we will compare your GCSE results with the minimum target grades set for you by your school. This will help us decide whether this is your most suitable programme of study. Other students, including those from outside the area, will have an opportunity to discuss their qualifications and experience to make sure they too are studying at the right level. For some programmes, we might need to observe you carrying out certain practical tasks before we can make you an offer.
