Career Progression & Prospects
Many employers now expect that electricians will have undertaken 18th edition training to ensure their knowledge of current wire regulations is up-to-date. Not having this training can significantly limit the number of jobs you can apply for, particularly contract and building site work so it's well worth getting this under your belt.

There are no pre-requisite requirements for this qualification. However, all candidates must be over 18 years old.

This is a commercial course, the fees for which are displayed above and must be paid at the time of booking.
Extra costs and equipment
All materials and equipment are provided by the centre, but candidates are asked to wear their own safety footwear in workshop environments.

How You'll Learn
This intensive 3-day course is delivered in a classroom environment and is purely theory-based. It will guide you through the IET Wiring regulations breaking down each topic into easy to understand modules.
Small class sizes ensure a friendly learning environment, with tutors on hand to help you understand the course content and ask questions where needed.

All tutors involved in the delivery of courses and/or assessments within the College are approved to teach and/or assess the subjects and modules they deliver.
The approval process ensures that staff delivering and/or assessing a given programme are appropriately qualified, with relevant technical and industrial experience and professional practice.
How You'll Be Assessed
You will take a 2 hour online multiple choice exam, which will take place on the third day.
You will be able to take your 18th Edition Regulations book (BS 7671) into the exam with you and refer to it if need be. The timing of the exam means that you will have on average 2 minutes per question so a good overall knowledge of the 18th Edition regs plus a thorough understanding of the book is a must.
Please note that you must bring photographic ID such as passport or driving licence with you in order to sit the assessment on this course.
