This is a practical course suitable for both beginners and those who have some prior experience in the craft. It will give learners the skills and confidence to work with wood and carry out basic carpentry and woodworking tasks around the home. This course has been designed to develop skills in basic woodworking joints, the using and maintenance of hand and power tools and gain a basic understanding of joinery construction methods.

Teaching and Learning Methods
At Blackpool and The Fylde College we recognise that all students learn differently. Our tutors will work with you to ensure that their teaching methods support the way that you learn.
This course consists of 3 hours per week workshop learning.
Practical demonstrations will be used as a key teaching method. Following these, you will then have hands on practical time where you will be implementing the skill learnt.
