You’ll take part in a hands-on workshop assessment and a short online test. These allow you to prove that you can repair and align vehicle body panels to manufacturer standards.

Entry Requirements
To take this AOM 032 module, you must already hold a valid IMI Senior Panel Accreditation.
You should have a strong understanding of panel alignment, body repair, and welding techniques, and be able to carry out these tasks without supervision.

You should bring footwear suitable for an automotive practical workshop environment. All other equipment/resources you require for this course are provided by B&FC at no extra cost.

What You’ll Learn

- Measuring and straightening: Use alignment and measurement equipment to return vehicles to specification.

How You’ll Learn
This is a practical assessment-based module, supported by pre-assessment guidance from IMI-accredited trainers. You’ll work in a workshop using industry tools, materials, and repair equipment. Our tutors will guide you through tasks and offer advice before the final assessment.

How You’ll Be Assessed
You’ll complete both practical and online assessments.
- Practical Assessment:
- Takes between 3.5 and 4.5 hours in a workshop setting.
- You’ll carry out a full range of panel repair and alignment tasks to show your competence.
- Online Knowledge Test:
- A short multiple-choice test with 10 questions.
- You’ll need a 60% pass mark to meet IMI standards.
