Key Course Information

Entry Requirements

This course prepares you to take the AM2 test. To enrol, you must have completed the Level 3 Electrical Installation Course and be working in the industry.

Please note: Where wearing PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is a mandatory requirement of the course, it is the responsibility of the learner to ensure that they are able to wear such equipment. Further information can be obtained at the IAG session which all applicants are invited to or by calling Course Enquiries on 01253 504343.

This is a commercial course, the fees for which are displayed above and must be paid at the time of booking.

Extra costs and equipment

We recommend you bring paper and pens so you can make notes. All other equipment is provided by B&FC at no extra cost.

How You'll Learn

This is an intensive one-day course, delivered in a teaching room by the course tutor.

Expert tutors

All tutors involved in the delivery of courses and/or assessments within the College are approved to teach and/or assess the subjects and modules they deliver.

The approval process ensures that staff delivering and/or assessing a given programme are appropriately qualified, with relevant technical and industrial experience and professional practice.

How You'll Be Assessed

There are six parts to the AM2 test, which this course will take you through, step by step.

You will cover the following key areas:

  • Conducting a Risk Assessment
  • Full Installation
  • Test and Inspection
  • Fault Finding and Safe Isolation
  • Online Exam

This is a preparation course, so there are no assessments. However, we will provide you with information about the assessments used for the AM2 test.
