Biography

Sarah’s move into education began in her late 30s, when, while working as a carer, she attended B&FC to study the Level 3 Health and Social Care. She then went on to complete the Assessors Award, the Level 4 Management Diploma, and the Internal Quality Assurance course.

The knowledge she had amassed working in the care industry equipped her to work for the College as an assessor; by completing a Certificate in Education she was able to pass that knowledge onto others in the role of lecturer.

Sarah now has over 20 years’ experience of both the health and social care industry and education, which she draws upon to support students in achieving their goals and progressing in their chosen profession.

Changes in the health sector mean that Sarah continues to update her skills through courses such as the Level 3 DANOS (Drug & Alcohol National Occupational Standards), which develops professional knowledge and understanding of substance misuse.
