English Functional Skills Co-ordinator
Nicola has been involved in health care and teaching all her working life. Her career began as a student nurse at university. She then took up a position as a dental nurse, where she completed her training and became an oral health educator.
A move into education followed, as Nicola began teaching the dental nurse qualification and Key Skills. Her next step was to complete a PGCE in primary teaching, which allowed her to work as a primary school teacher.
Nicola eventually returned to further education, initially to support students with English and maths. She has since progressed to teaching on a range of health and childcare programmes.
My subject strengths are safeguarding, health and safety, and planning activities for children.
