Industry Background

Being actively involved in local politics and community development, I am responsible for supporting and developing community engagement across Blackpool. Creating links with the public services is a key priority in order to ensure our students are prepared for their future careers.

Before going into teaching I worked as a PCSO within a neighbourhood policing team, managing anti-social behaviour and crime in Blackpool North. I also have experience of working within the non-uniformed public services, as a business help desk advisor for Inland Revenue.

Professional Activities

• Designing and implementing projects across the Blackpool area, including public service multi-agency working and developments of the voluntary sector.
• Co-designing and writing the Foundation Degree Public Services and the Community

Why B&FC?

I enjoy working at an outstanding college, with dedicated members of staff. I chose to teach here because I wanted to give something back to the community in which I was born and grew up. I want to ensure Blackpool students have high aspirations and support them in reaching their true potential. I am very proud to work for Blackpool and The Fylde College and keen to inspire students to come to and study here.

“If you are keen to help and serve your communities, then this is the course for you. Gaining a career in public services is rewarding and exciting, with every day being different.”
