Industry Background

I have worked in a range of early years settings across Blackpool supporting and observing children’s development.

In these placements, I have been lucky enough to experience different types of early years frameworks being implemented.

I have spent time working in customer service roles and have travelled abroad and worked for a travel company as a children’s holiday rep which was a fantastic experience.

More recently alongside my role as an FE teacher, I volunteered as a life coach working for the NHS which allowed me to explore my research interests of the relationship between stress and physical and mental health.

I have been able to utilise my experiences within my teaching practises to add richness and depth to my lessons.

Professional Activities

Outside my role as a teacher, I have trained as Master Practitioner in Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) and supported with training of those developing their training in this field. I have volunteered as a life coach working with the NHS supporting clients to deal with life issues they are facing.

I have researched and been part of a team developing T-Level and Transition programmes being introduced in colleges from September 2020.

Why B&FC?

I love the community feeling of working for B&FC and working with staff across all departments.

There is a lot of opportunity for additional training and skills updating that helps me in my role as a tutor.
