Programme Leader - Early Childhood Education
Julie’s association with B&FC began when she completed her Level 3 Diploma in Pre-School Practice, which saw her progress to doing the Foundation Degree Professional Practice in Early Years.
Upon completion, Julie decided to top up this qualification to a full honours degree with an additional year’s study at UCLAN. Intent on returning to B&FC to teach, she then enrolled on B&FC’s 1-year pre-service PGCE course.
Julie initially started lecturing here on a part-time basis, devoting her spare time to scholarly activity to support my interest in early childhood education. Eventually, she progressed to teaching full-time.
Julie’s current role is Programme Leader for Early Childhood Studies, within which she strives to further promote teaching and learning in early years.

My professional career in relation to education began in a local pre-school, where I worked for four years prior to starting my final year of study at UCLAN. I have been employed at B&FC for the past eight years.
I lead the Early Years higher education programmes and actively engage in scholarly activity to further underpin the currency of these programmes, in their current format and for their imminent re-validation.
B&FC is devoted to the concept that the student is at the heart of everything we do and in Society, Health and Childhood, we strive to make this our focus across all teaching and learning activities.
“Always strive to be the best that you can be.”
