Craig is a higher education (HE) lecturer in engineering and mathematics at Blackpool and The Fylde College.
As an undergraduate heI studied mathematics at UCLan, where he discovered he loved education enough to consider it as a career.
After graduating from UCLan, he went on to complete a Postgraduate Certificate in Mathematics Education at the University of Wales, and a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering at Lancaster University.
Craig credits his achievement in education to Blackpool and The Fylde College, as it was this college that gave him the opportunity to study his A-Levels at the age of 22. As a mature student, he was given not only an opportunity to study, but also the self-confidence needed to progress further.

My career goal was always to be in education, and upon completion of my qualifications I trained as a teacher/lecturer and began teaching at Blackpool and The Fylde College.
During 2015/16 I worked as a consultant to Pearson Education, the parent company of Edexcel and BTEC. In this capacity I was part of the development team that was responsible for the redesign of the Engineering Higher National qualifications (to be delivered internationally from September 2017). This involved undergoing training in curriculum writing and participating in the extensive process of writing specific unit content for these programmes. I also acted as a reviewer of other units.
HE courses at B&FC attract people of all ages from different backgrounds with varying experiences. Everybody fits in, and everybody is welcome.
