Tuition Fees for Higher Education

Fees for full-time students

Our tuition fees for full-time undergraduate courses offer great value for money.

2019/20 entry: £8,250, with up to £500 for full-time eligible students with our Advantage Bursary. 

Fees for part-time students

Fees for part-time higher education courses will be charged on a pro rata basis. It can be cheaper to undertake a course part-time but it will take you longer to complete your qualification.

Tuition fee loans

These are available to cover the full cost of tuition fees and don’t have to be repaid until you’re qualified and earning at least £25,000 a year2. The table below gives you an idea of what your monthly repayments could be.

Financial support

You may be entitled to apply for a maintenance loan if you are on a full-time course. The maximum maintenance loan for the 2018/19 academic year (depending on household income) is:

  • If you are living with parents/guardians and under 25 years old - £7,324    
  • If you are living away from home or over 25 years old - £8,700

You may be eligible to apply for additional financial support depending on your circumstances.

International students

Fees and payment information is available for international students in our International Student Fees Policy.

Additional grants

Disabled Students’ Allowance – the amount you could get is dependent on your individual needs.

Parents’ Learning Allowance – you could get up to £1,669 for the 2018 to 2019 academic year.

Childcare Grant – you could be eligible for up to up to £164.70 a week for one child and up to £282.36 a week for two or more children for the 2018 to 2019 academic year.

Adult Dependants’ Grant – you could get up to £2,925 for the 2018 to 2019 academic year.

MoD Enhanced Learning Credits Scheme - members of the Armed Forces may be eligible to claim funding for approved qualifications at level 3 or above.
