Enrichment is about providing opportunities to bring learning to life, develop your range of interests, meet new friends and grow as a person. Some will be related to your area of study; others won’t. But they should all present you with a challenge, as well as being lots of fun.

Curriculum-based activities

Studying at B&FC, you’ll have the chance to see how your subject works in real life and apply that insight to your studies. We also aim to develop your employability skills and interview techniques.

Our courses feature guest speakers, trips into industry and overseas visits, ‘real life’ assignments, competitions, work experience and work placements (some of which lead to permanent positions).

Extra-curricular activities

College is as much about the social side as it is about learning. At B&FC we offer a vast range of activities, from lunchtime boxing to helping run the College radio station. Activities are free to everyone enrolled on a course and in most cases, there’s no need to book.

Fee-based activities

For additional fee-based sports activities, please see our Sports Facilities page. The Sports Team can also organise one-off fitness activities, such as trips to Manchester’s Chill Factor for skiing and to Grizedale Forest for mountain biking. For more information contact the Sports Centre staff on 01253 590829. Don’t forget, the Students’ Union may be able to help with funding too.
