Manufacturing Apprenticeships

Manufacturing apprenticeships put learners at the heart of production—mastering skills in CNC machining, quality control, lean processes, and automation. Apprentices gain hands-on experience and industry-recognised qualifications. For employers, it’s a smart way to build a technically skilled, future-ready workforce that drives efficiency, innovation and precision on the factory floor.

Assemble all the components of a successful career with a manufacturing apprenticeship

Manufacturing apprenticeships offer a powerful, hands-on route into one of the UK’s most advanced and fast-evolving industries. From precision engineering to lean production and automated systems, apprentices develop the technical skills and real-world experience needed to thrive in high-performance manufacturing environments.

You’ll work with cutting-edge tools and technologies, from CNC machines to automated systems. And as you earn a wage, you’ll also gain industry-recognised qualifications and valuable experience that can open doors across the sector.

For employers, apprenticeships offer more than just extra pair of hands on the line. They’re a smart, sustainable way to build talent that’s tailored to your business—people trained in your systems, your standards and your culture. With pathways from intermediate to higher levels, they support succession planning, boost retention and ultimately strengthen your technical capability where it matters most.

Whether you're assembling components, optimising workflows or pushing the boundaries of innovation, manufacturing apprenticeships help shape the workforce that keeps industry advancing—skilled, adaptable and ready for what’s next.

Career opportunities

Beginning in hands-on roles such as operator, technician, or assembler, apprentices quickly build technical expertise in areas like CNC machining, quality control and process optimisation. With experience and further training, progression routes can lead to senior roles such as production supervisor, quality engineer or manufacturing manager. Some may specialise in automation, maintenance or lean manufacturing, while others advance into design, planning or continuous improvement roles.

These pathways offer increasing responsibility, higher earning potential and long-term career stability in an industry that values skill, innovation and precision. With strong employer demand and clear routes to higher-level qualifications, a manufacturing apprenticeship sets the foundation for professional growth and lasting success.

Facilities

With offsite training based in B&FC's multi-million-pound Advanced Technology Centre and specialist workshops, our Manufacturing apprentices are able to access the industry-standard equipment and technologies that will allow them to translate their classroom-based learning directly into the workplace.

Expert tutors further complement the facilities with their understanding of production processes born out of real-world experience underpinned by academic knowledge to help your apprentices thrive.
