Studied BA Hons Acting at B&FC • Adult Learner/Career Change (Age: 23) / Graduated July 2019

My Story

“Before coming to B&FC, I was attending university elsewhere and wasn’t enjoying it. I am not as confident with written work as I am with practical, and the course didn’t have a big enough percentage of practical work. I left after first year and decided to do a year working, before looking at the course here and seeing that there was much more practical work involved than theoretical. When I came to audition, I was made so welcome and felt relaxed straight away, which is why I decided to come here.”

My B&FC

“During my three years in this course, I have loved rehearsing and performing all the time; I missed it when I did my year working and I was glad to get back to it! In my third year especially, I loved working on professional shows. Throughout my course, I studied practically 5 days a week, because when you aren’t working in class, you’re generally rehearsing or doing other work. It fits quite nicely because we have weekends and holidays off. The tutors were very welcoming, constructive, and professional and they have sound knowledge of the industry, which is great because they know what they are talking about and we get relevant information. The classes are also quite small; around 24 people, which leaves enough space to get 1:1 support from the tutors if you need it. The resources are fabulous here. Everything you need is here, there’s no need to go external. I would say to new students that they should just have fun and make the most of your opportunities, because the three years goes very fast.”

My Next Move...

“For now I don’t know what I am going to do, because I am taking a break from education for a while. However, ultimately, I would love to act in a sketch show.”

My Opportunities

“During my course, I didn’t do any placements because I wanted to focus on my degree. However, since I have finished my course, I have taken part voluntarily I a puppet show which has given me great experience and is leading me to connect with industry professionals.”
