My Story

I knew I wanted to study a computing course and B&FC, which I already knew through being a previous student, was the obvious choice. There are lots of other reasons why I chose B&FC however: Computing has a reputation for being very good, the fees are lower than at other institutions and the College is close to my home so I don’t have to go and study away.

My long-term goal is to become a web developer and the course I’ve chosen provides the necessary teaching for me to learn the skills needed to pursue this career. Technology is constantly evolving and as more and more things require a digital platform, studying Interactive Media Development will enable me to access an industry that is only going to continue to grow and provide me with new and unlimited opportunities.

  • great facilities such as green screens and lighting for video-making
  • the tutors make lessons fun and engaging
  • lots of support with things like academic writing
  • develops valuable new skills for the workplace

My Next Move...

After completing my Foundation Degree my aim is to progress to the BSc (Hons) Web Technology and Digital Media. My ultimate career goal is to become a web developer.

My Opportunities

I’m excited about progressing to my second year and looking forwarding to completing my 100-hour work placement – I’m already applying to relevant companies.

Probably the best aspect of the Computing Department at B&FC is the tutors. Were it not for their fantastic support I might not have stayed the distance. Whether I am doubting myself or struggling with a particular unit, the tutors are always on hand to offer their assistance.
