Studied BA Hons Business and Financial Management at B&FC • Adult Learner/Career Change (Age: 41) / Graduated July 2019

My Story

“I currently have a full-time job, and I needed to achieve a professional qualification as a part of this. This course was the most relevant to what I needed to do. Blackpool and the Fylde College was an approved vendor for higher education within my company and the college that’s closest to me geographically, and these things played a big part in influencing my decision to come here rather than go elsewhere. Coming back to learning was daunting at first, but easy once I got into it. I definitely made the right decision to come here.”

My B&FC

“The smaller class sizes were great and fit me well as it never made me feel marginalised or ignored. Studying one and a half days in the first two years and only one day in the final year allowed me to work full-time and also get my qualification. The tutors were extremely knowledgeable, approachable, and great at delivering source material consistently, my favourite being contract law and construction of business plans. I would definitely advise any new starters to attend all parts of your course and listen to the tutors, because that’s how you learn everything you need to know.”

My Next Move...

“Now I have finished my course, achieving this qualification will allow me to begin a better role than I had before with a new company. Being at Blackpool and the Fylde College has helped me to learn the knowledge I needed to do this.”

My Opportunities

“Despite not doing any industry placements because I already have a full-time job, I have had fantastic opportunities to use impressive, well-considered and accessible equipment at the college so that I could complete my course to the best of my ability.”
