Congratulations to our Class of 2025!

It's been yet another amazing set of results for our school leavers at Blackpool and The Fylde College. In fact, year-on-year performance has improved across the board, with increased pass rates, more students than ever achieving higher grades and some truly outstanding individual performances including two students who achieved the highest possible grades in their Extended Diplomas - Distinction Triple Stars!

The course has opened so many doors for me. My placement was amazing and I learnt so much. Getting that experience is something you just don't get by studying A levels. Having been in the classroom and having spent so much time with the children means I'm confident I've made the right career choice. Now I'm really looking forward to going to Leeds Beckett University to further my studies."

I chose a T level because of the work experience. You don't get that with any other course and I learnt so much from the professionals during my time there. In fact, I'm planning to go back and do a degree apprenticeship with them next to become a software engineer so it's worked out really well."

I looked into it beforehand and found that Blackpool and The Fylde College has one of the best Engineering departments in the country which is why I chose to come here. I think it's really beneficial to do the 315 hour placement as you actually get to see what working in the industry is like. I worked at Clifton Care Home and Blackpool Victoria Hospital. I was on the wards dealing directly with patients and supporting people with personal care needs more or less from the start. It's eye-opening and great preparation for your future career."

  • Meet Aaron - Business T level student
     


    Aaron has just completed his T level in Business Management and Administration with us achieving a Distinction of which is rightly proud. Echoing the thoughts of many of his fellow T level students, Aaron said that the unique work placement opportunity afforded by his course was one of the key reasons for choosing to study this qualification as it gave him the chance to apply his classroom-based learning to real-life situations and also bring what he learnt in the business back into the classroom.

  • Meet Thomas - Engineering Diploma student
     


    The BTEC Extended Diploma is Aeronautical Engineering was the perfect choice for Thomas who really wanted to focus on what interested him right from the start. It was a decision which has clearly paid off as Thomas not only achieved a final grade Distinction but has also secured a sought after degree apprenticeship with local firm Airframe Design, which specialises in aeronautical engineering.
