Meet Madison – T Level Primary Teaching student

High-flying student Madison was over the moon with her T Level result, achieving a Distinction Star in her Primary Teaching qualification, the best result possible.

Heading off to Edge Hill University in September to study for a degree in Primary Teaching, Madison chose a T Level over other progression routes because the combination of classroom and work-based learning really appealed to her and she was so glad she did.

She described her placement at Manor Beach Primary School as ‘fantastic’ with the opportunity to work in a number of different roles in the classroom environment from supporting small groups to teaching an entire class. The placement also gave Madison a real insight into where she might ideally want to take her career in the future having particularly enjoyed working one-to-one with one of the school’s SEND students.

Another amazing opportunity that came along as a result of her decision to do a T Level at B&FC was the chance to travel to Nepal and teach English to primary students there:

“Not only did we get to deliver lessons to the children, we also got to immerse ourselves in Nepalese culture and see how a very different education system works. It really was a once-in-a-lifetime adventure.”

Madison had no hesitation in recommending a T Level to prospective students, but said that being organised was the key to her success. “Making sure you keep on top of the work is important”, she said. “As is putting lots of effort into your placement. I hadn’t anticipated how much it would shape what I wanted to do in the future but I’m now really committed to working in SEND.”
