Blackpool and the Fylde College are excited to become part of the Fleetwood Trust project which will provide much-needed facilities and support for the community… a place for everyone, provided by everyone. Mary Roberts, Curriculum Manager for Adult Skills, said “My team are thrilled to be part of the community project at the Hub by providing essential education to adults without them needing to travel. The team are experts in building confidence, even if students have not been in education for many years, to springboard them to further education and/or employment”. Fleetwood Learning Centre @ The Hub will offer short and flexible courses in English and Maths, Computer skills, Employability Skills and ESOL (English as a second Language). The classes are split into levels, so the work is not too easy and not too hard. To remove any barriers to learning, the college will be offering students a free breakfast, food vouchers and a £60 a month bursary to those on low wage including Universal Credit. Childcare fees will also be paid if required. Students can enrol at any time as the classes have weekly start dates.
