We are delighted to share the remarkable achievement of two of our T Level construction students, who have recently embarked on an exciting journey with Create Homes. This initiative is a testament to Create Homes' unwavering commitment to nurturing and developing young talent, ensuring they acquire the essential skills and knowledge needed for a successful career in the construction industry.

Create Homes have welcomed Fraser Starkey and Jason Dyson to their impressive development, ‘The Groves’ on Faraday Way. This initiative will provide these students with invaluable, real-life industry experience, complementing their academic studies.

Fraser, an 18-year-old second-year student, aspires to study construction at university and ultimately aims to run his own construction business. Jason, at 16, is a first-year student with dreams of a career in architecture. Both are enrolled in the T Levels Design, Surveying & Planning course and will be completing a 45-day apprentice placement with Create Homes.

Rosalind Tsang, Programme Leader shared her thoughts: “The invaluable support from Create Homes has been instrumental in providing our learners with real-world industry exposure, enriching their knowledge, skills and professional demeanour. This collaboration serves as a cornerstone in preparing them for higher education and ensuring a sustainable career path in the dynamic construction industry.”

The hands-on training these apprentices receive is extensive. They are actively involved in various aspects of house building, including understanding design, engineering and planning, surveying, health and safety issues, quality inspections, and problem-solving. Moreover, they gain practical knowledge of home construction and the associated trades.

Will Prew, Operations Manager at Create Homes, expressed his enthusiasm: “Our new apprentices Frazer and Jason have joined us at an exciting time for Create Homes here in Bispham. Alongside college training, nothing beats the practical experience they will get working with our experienced team on site, not to mention the personal development opportunities they will be exposed to, such as professional communication skills, relationship-building and teamwork.”

This partnership not only enriches the students' learning experiences but also strengthens the bond between industry and education, paving the way for a brighter future in the construction sector.

We are immensely proud of Fraser and Jason and eagerly anticipate their continued success.
