The College is delighted to have received the Highly Commended award for leading Multiply delivery in the community at the Lancashire Skills & Employment Hub Multiply Celebration Event.
This award highlights the exceptional efforts of B&FC’s Multiply team in supporting refugee families across Lancashire. By overcoming language barriers and using the universal language of numbers, the team delivered engaging and impactful short courses. These courses have enabled many learners to achieve functional skills maths qualifications, marking their first steps into education and personal success in the UK.
Through compassion, enthusiasm, and a commitment to improving lives, the team fostered an environment where refugees could learn, grow, and build hope for a brighter future in a safe and welcoming environment.

What is the Multiply Project?
Multiply is a government-funded initiative aimed at helping adults improve their everyday maths skills, completely free of charge. Designed to empower individuals with practical knowledge, the programme offers a range of courses tailored to real-life needs.
The project is open to adults aged 19 and over, offering a pathway to develop skills that can enhance confidence, career prospects, and overall quality of life. Whether it’s budgeting, functional maths, or numeracy for everyday tasks, Multiply provides the tools to support personal and professional growth.
