A massive well done to our three Uniformed Protective Service student groups who between them have managed to raise an outstanding total of £1006.62 for Help Beat Cancer/ Cancer Research UK

Their original target was to raise £600 (£200 per group) as part of their Leadership, Teamwork and Communication course unit which they did by organising the following fundraising events and activities during May 2022. These included:

  • A Fancy Dress 10k Run/ Walk
  • A Dodgeball Tournament
  • A Sport vs Public Service Charity Football Match
  • A Charity Raffle

They were also supported by United Utilities who donated 460 water bottles which the students used both to boost their fundraising totals and support a variety of activities beyond their original charity remit. They donated some of the bottles to:

- 💧 Ukraine 🇺🇦 appeal charity, who sent these on to help young children and families still living in Ukraine.

- 💧Hornby Road Children's Home  to help with their respite service.

- 💧Blackpool Children's Services to help disadvantaged young people and kids in Blackpool

Some were also given to students from Park School Academy who attend B&FC one day a week to learn about Sports, Business and Uniformed Protective Service and who also helped to raise £76.61 towards the final total.

Our students not only achieved some outstanding learning outcomes for their final course work. They also demonstrated effective communication, leadership, teamwork and determination though all their hard work and dedication.

We really couldn't be prouder of everyone who took part!
