Blackpool & Fylde College (B&FC) has agreed an exciting new partnership with Blackpool Football Club (BFC) for the 2025/26 season.
This collaboration will support a range of joint activity designed to benefit learners, colleagues and the wider community.
B&FC teaches around 13,500 students each year across multiple sites on the Fylde Coast and has served local communities for more than 130 years.
As part of the partnership, B&FC will promote selected Blackpool FC fixtures and ticket offers to learners and will work with the club to identify potential training, development and work experience opportunities across several areas of its operations. The college will also use the partnership to highlight the range of technical, professional and degree-level education it delivers.
Alun Francis, B&FC Chief Executive Officer, said: “We’re proud to become an Official Partner of Blackpool Football Club.”
“Through this partnership we will showcase the range of opportunities we offer learners of all ages, including the forthcoming Multiversity in the town centre. We will also promote Blackpool’s fixtures and any ticket offers to our student community, explore training opportunities for the Club, and develop new work experience placements across several areas.
“What unites us is our high aspirations for the town’s future – and this partnership will support both local people and the wider economy.”
Martin Brooker, Head of Sponsorship and Partnerships for Blackpool Football Club, added: “This is a fantastic new partnership we have been working on for several months with key stakeholders from Blackpool & Fylde College.”
“Not only will we work with the college to promote B&FC nationally, regionally and locally via this relationship, we are keen to collaborate on a number of projects to enhance the partnership even further in the future.
“From our early discussions it was clear to see that there are opportunities for both parties to analyse and develop a mutually beneficial partnership. This is across a number of areas from a business perspective, educational and work placement opportunities as well as community engagement with representatives of each organisation already working together on these areas.
“Finally, this partnership will also help deliver some exciting new projects at the stadium too. The first example of this starts this week with a number of students from the construction course with painting & decorating skills supporting preparation for Rob Purdon’s next phase of creative art around Bloomfield Road in the North Stand.
“With the new Multiversity development also on the horizon this is an opportunity for the Club to be working with one of the largest organisations in the town on this basis - so it’s a really exciting development for all concerned.”
