What is Clearing?

Clearing is a process that allows students who haven't secured a place at a university or college to apply for degree level courses that still have available spaces. It’s an opportunity to find the right course for you if your initial plans have changed or if you didn't achieve your expected results.

Who is eligible for Clearing?

Clearing is available to:

  • Students who did not receive any offers
  • Students who did not meet the conditions of their offers
  • Students who declined their offers or applied after the UCAS deadline
  • Students who haven’t applied to any college or university for September 2024 start

When does Clearing take place?

Clearing usually opens in July and runs until mid-October. However, the majority of places are filled soon after A-Level and T Level results are released on 15 August. It's important to act quickly to secure your spot.
