B&FC Students Raise Over £1000 Cancer Research UK Published on 08/06/2022 by SGLAS General news press_releases A massive well done to our three Uniformed Protective Service student groups who between them have managed to raise an outstanding total of £1006.62 for Help Beat Cancer/ Cancer Research UKTheir original target was to raise £600 (£200 per group) as part of their Leadership, Teamwork and Communication course unit which they did by organising the following fundraising events and activities during May 2022. These included:A Fancy Dress 10k Run/ WalkA Dodgeball TournamentA Sport vs Public Service Charity Football MatchA Charity RaffleThey were also supported by United Utilities who donated 460 water bottles which the students used both to boost their fundraising totals and support a variety of activities beyond their original charity remit. They donated some of the bottles to:💧 Ukraine 🇺🇦 appeal charity, who sent these on to help young children and families still living in Ukraine.💧Hornby Road Children's Home to help with their respite service.💧Blackpool Children's Services to help disadvantaged young people and kids in BlackpoolSome were also given to students from Park School Academy who attend B&FC one day a week to learn about Sports, Business and Uniformed Protective Service and who also helped to raise £76.61 towards the final total.Our students not only achieved some outstanding learning outcomes for their final course work.
