Creative cards make money for charity

Art and design students from Blackpool and The Fylde College have raised more than £100 for Brian House by designing and selling greetings cards.

They were taking part in the £50 Challenge organised by the children’s hospice, which gave fundraisers a sum of money they then had to double.

Having agreed on two designs, created by Melissa Ginley and Chris Ratcliffe, the class had them professionally printed and sold them to family and friends. Total sales were £157.

Course tutor Karen Armistead said: “There were several excellent designs but we could only choose two to be printed. All the students were involved in selling the cards and I am very proud of what they have achieved.”
