Apprenticeships take centre stage at higher education open event
Published on 22/01/2021 by DTHACK
The event takes place online from 11am to 2pm on Saturday 30 January. All degree-level courses will be on offer, and live chat provided helping students make the right course choice.
The B&FC for Business team will be debunking six myths about higher and degree apprenticeships, and supporting employers to recruit new apprentices or identify opportunities to upskill existing colleagues with higher or degree-level qualifications.
The event will also feature lots of useful information about higher education courses at the college's University Centre on Park Road, and its Construction Skills Centre and Advanced Technology Centre on Bispham Campus.
After the virtual open event B&FC will launch apprenticeship month. From Monday 1 February the college will be celebrating the commitment and success of apprentices and their employers during these turbulent times.
Linda Dean, Executive director of B&FC for Business, said: "It's been an incredibly challenging year for everyone - and we've seen employers go above and beyond in their support for apprentices, and apprentices displaying significant resilience and commitment to their employers
"Apprentices deliver huge value to businesses, not only in terms of productivity and extending skillsets now, but also in terms of building for the future
Looking ahead, National Apprenticeship Week 2021 is taking place between February 8 and 14. The theme is Building the Future.
Linda added: "There's never been a more important time to bring energy and fresh thinking to organisations. And there is often no one better to bring that dynamism and creativity - and to offer businesses the chance to help train future leaders - than an apprentice."
