Trials for next season’s AFC Fylde Academy kick off on 15 February.
The Academy is run by Blackpool and The Fylde College and is open to 16-18 year olds who aspire to develop their skills with the thriving conference side. Players combine full-time sports and fitness study alongside a full training and development programme delivered by AFC Fylde coaches at the new Mill Farm Stadium Complex. Players represent the Academy in the Northern Alliance Youth League against other top academy sides such as FC United of Manchester, Halifax, Gateshead, Macclesfield and Guiseley.
Trialists should turn up at the 3G pitches at the College’s Bispham campus by 10am with appropriate kit and refreshments. Further information is available on 01253 504194.
An information evening will also be held at the Bispham campus on 3 March where interested students can find out about the courses, the club and the Academy. The session will be delivered between 5pm and 6pm by David Challinor, first team coach at AFC Fylde, and Matt Barr, Curriculum Manager at Blackpool and The Fylde College.
