Views of students make Blackpool and The Fylde College a top ten choice

A nationwide review by the UK’s leading college and university course comparison site has placed Blackpool and The Fylde College (B&FC) in the top ten further education colleges in the country based on the views of students who study there.
At the WhatUni Student Choice Awards 2019 in London next month the college will learn if it has beaten off tough competition from further education colleges across the UK to be voted the top choice from the ten finalists.
Now in their sixth year, the WhatUni awards are unique in being solely driven by student opinion. In the past year over 41,000 students across the UK responded to requests for their views and opinions on a range of issues including the choice of courses, quality of teaching, social facilities, and student support services at their college. Their views were obtained both electronically and as a result of visits to the college by independent ‘review collection’ teams who talked directly with students.
Only colleges and institutions that teach to degree level are eligible for a WhatUni award and B&FC does this through a close and long-standing partnership with Lancaster University.
Over 16,000 people study at B&FC campuses on the Fylde across a range of subjects from cookery and computing to health and social care, construction, catering, automotive, aerospace, and nuclear engineering. Their studies extend from entry level courses to those at degree level and many students are mature people working towards qualifications that will contribute to their career advancement or improve their job opportunities.
The WhatUni Student Choice Awards 2019 take place in London on 25th April.
