11 days, 11 challenges: supporting the Royal British Legion

Blackpool and The Fylde College students and staff are taking on eleven, 11-related challenges across 11 November days to raise awareness of Remembrance Day and the work of the Royal British Legion.

Teams representing Public Services will be carrying out physical and creative challenges ranging from 11-mile walks carrying 11kg backpacks to cooking up 11 recipes. In a related challenge, some staff and students are aiming to complete 3,000 press-ups in November.

Each group has a target to raise at least £100 for the Royal British Legion.

Lecturer Joanne Heath said: “Students and staff are involved throughout the year in fundraising campaigns supporting local and national good causes. This latest project is our way of helping those who have made incredible sacrifices to keep our country and its people safe.”
