Blackpool and The Fylde College has again played host to The Gazette Young Engineers competition.

This year, a team of pupils from Lytham St Annes Technology and Performing Arts College was victorious and took the £10,000 prize back to their school following a difficult challenge to design and fly model aircraft.

This is the fifth year the College has organised the Young Engineers competition - which is sponsored by Cuadrilla Resources and Centrica for pupils aged 13 to 15.

The Ofsted Outstanding Blackpool and The Fylde College is a champion of the STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) subjects and delivers more STEM at HE level than any other institution in England.
