Budget boost for apprenticeships

The government’s cash boost for employers recruiting apprenticeships means there’s never been a better time to make training a priority to help your business recover – and grow.

Apprenticeships are a great way for your organisation to get the skills required to succeed.

They’re a cost-effective way to recruit new talent.

Or a fantastic opportunity to reward and retain ambitious colleagues and future leaders by extending their qualifications and skillset.

B&FC offers apprenticeships from Level 2 to Level 6 including Degree Apprenticeships validated though Lancaster University, one of the UK’s top 10. And today’s announcement makes now the perfect time to tap into apprenticeships.

In his Budget address today (Wednesday 3 March) Chancellor Rishi Sunak announced an increase to £3,000 in the cash incentive for employers to hire an apprentice of any age.

B&FC isn’t just a training provider. We’ll not only work with you to identify the right apprenticeship for your business’ needs – but also advertise for, shortlist, and enroll your apprentice on to the study programme.

Apprenticeships also work well in upskilling established teams. B&FC can work with you to complete a skills gaps analysis of the business and recommend the right apprenticeship programmes to close these gaps

"Could not be happier"

Zoe Coates, HR Future Capability Manager for Vodafone UK, said: "We selected B&FC as Vodafone’s primary learning provider for all early career apprenticeships and so far, we could not be happier.

"Our account manager Vicky Jones is not only responsive, flexible and solutions-focused, but she is also really engaged in the partnership and goes above and beyond to be proactive and find exciting new pathways for us to explore as a company.

"The feedback from our apprentices has been nothing but positive and I know their apprenticeship experience will be great because of the service provided by B&FC.

B&FC for Business’ Vicky said: “B&FC has many years’ experience supporting organisations to offer apprenticeships. We offer a wide range of study programmes helping apprentices quickly make a difference in their organisation.”

"Partner offering all the technical expertise"

Brian McLauchlan, operations director at KC Autos, said: “Recruiting is very difficult as there is a big skills shortage.

“Our vision has been to work alongside a partner that can offer all the technical expertise and develop skills so we can develop our own staff. That's why we chose Blackpool and The Fylde College.”

“Feedback on the college's Level 6 Digital & Technology Solutions degree from apprentices and employers was among the best. B&FC has been nothing short of brilliant and we are so happy to have brought them on board; I'm sure they will provide a fantastic learning experience for our apprentices.”

"Supporting our apprentices"

Andrew Stone, Apprenticeship Business Manager at Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust: “Through working with the subject specialists at B&FC, we were able to tailor the delivery model to suit the Trust and the individual’s needs; this giving the individuals the opportunity to be able to pursue a career in Nursing and for the Trust to develop its workforce.

“B&FC also provide us with a Client Relationship Manager who is our single point of contact.  I would like to thank Blackpool and the Fylde College for the support they give to our apprentices in helping them to achieve their educational and career goals.”

B&FC is one of RateMyApprenticeship’s top 50 training providers.
