Catering stars head back to college

A stellar line-up of renowned chefs and restaurateurs, all of whom learnt their trade at Blackpool and The Fylde College, returned to their roots to inspire those just starting out.
David Moore, Tony Bee, Paul Moss and Paul Rowley were among a number of notable alumni presenting awards to top achievers from the School of Hospitality, Tourism and Sport.
They also shared their success stories on camera for a promotional film which will be used to show prospective students just how far they can go in the industry with training from B&FC.
David, owner of the Michelin starred Pied à Terre and L’autre Pied in London, told the audience that small adjustments can make a big impact on customer experience in the hospitality industry, while Tony, who has previously worked in Gordon Ramsay’s restaurants, spoke about his life as a chef in Australia and London.
Students were offered employment opportunities by Paul Moss, both at his celebrated Twelve restaurant in Thornton and this summer at Lytham Festival. Finally Paul Rowley encouraged them to go the extra mile, stick at it and understand the importance of financial control. Paul is head of Rowley’s Catering where three generations of his family studied at B&FC.
