Kyle is B&FC's Students' Union VP for HE representing Computing. Here he shares his College experience and tips for prospective students.

Why did you choose to study at B&FC?

I live close by. This course and college allowed me to achieve my goals without having to move further afield.

What you like best about B&FC?

Tutors are very good at getting students to research and further their knowledge without giving you all the answers. This has given me more drive to research and problem solve outside of college.

What do you enjoy most about your course?

It’s very interactive, featuring lots of practical workshops and theory to help you gain a great understanding of the topics studied. You work on hardware that’s used in industry, which means the transition to a career will be that much easier.

What are your career ambitions?

My professional goal is a job in network management. After completing my current course I want to take on Master’s and PGCE courses so I can eventually pass my knowledge on to the next generation.

What advice would you give to future B&FC students?

Do plenty of research into what you learn at college, so you develop a deeper understanding of the topic which will serve you well in your career and give you a great edge while studying and completing assignments. Also, and just as importantly, have fun and make friends. They will be the pillars that will hold you up on the hard days.
