New students

To sign up for a higher education course starting in September, please attend our main enrolment event on Wednesday 21 August 9am – 7pm at Bispham Campus.

If you cannot attend, please make sure you attend one of our other sessions. See full list of dates and locations here.

Flying Start programme

Get your degree off to a flying start with one of our 'pre-degree' sessions this summer.

Flying Start sessions are half-day workshops to help you prepare for your new degree-level course. Open to all students who have enrolled on a level 4 course, they include tips on how to learn independently, and how to research and manage your time effectively.

The sessions are a great way to meet other new students, get to know your surroundings and generally get a head start on your studies. 

Choose one session from:

•    Tuesday 20 August 9.30am-12.30pm or 1-4pm
•    Wednesday 21 August 9.30am-12.30pm or 1-4pm
•    Thursday 22 August 9.30am-12.30pm or 1-4pm
•    Friday 23 August 9.30am-12.30pm
•    Wednesday 4 September 5-8pm
•    Thursday 5 September 5-8pm

Flying Further programme

Get ahead of the game with our flying further study support workshops. Gain the skills needed to achieve your degree and career potential this summer with a choice of workshops for existing degree students about to progress to either level 5 or level 6.

Flying Further Essential Workshop

If you feel you would benefit from some support with the basics (such as referencing, research and critical analysis) this workshop is for you.

Choose one of the following:

  • Tuesday 27 August, 1-3pm, University Centre
  • Tuesday 27 August, 4-6pm, University Centre

Flying Further Advanced Workshop

If you've mastered the basic study skills and you're ready to develop an advanced approach to major projects, critical analysis and interpretation of sources, this is the workshop for you.

Choose one of the following:

  • Wednesday 28 August, 1-3pm, University Centre
  • Wednesday 28 August, 4-6pm, University Centre
