Higher Education Learning Mentors (HELMs) are here to help you get the most from your degree-level study experience.
They'll advise you on matters such as research, resources and time management.
HELMs can also help if you need a hand understanding referencing, or getting started with your assignments.
Whatever support you need with your studies, HELMs can help.
HELMs deliver academic skills support and enhancement activities such as
- one-to-one support
- online reviews of work
for all HE students from entry to graduation.
Students will generally work with just one HELM rather than with multiple people.
HELM Study Skills and Wellbeing Workshops
These sessions support students in the development of study skills strategies which are transferable into employment situations.
Curriculum areas and HELMs work closely to promote research skills and support the use of primary research within dissertations and major projects.
Where we are
HELMs are based at University Centre in South Building foyer. Online and face-to-face appointments are available.
