Following consultation with final year students from this year and last year, the overwhelming majority confirmed they want to enjoy a traditional graduation ceremony with family and friends.
Therefore, due to a significant number of unknowns and risks around holding large events this summer, we have made the difficult decision to postpone graduation ceremonies planned for July 2021.
While we want to celebrate graduation in person with you as soon as possible, and we welcome the Government’s recent roadmap to reopening, we believe it is prudent to reschedule the graduation celebrations as follows:
- 2020 graduates: Winter Gardens – Wednesday, 11 May 2022
- 2021 graduates: Winter Gardens – Thursday, 12 May 2022
The graduation ceremony for 2022 graduates is scheduled for 7 July 2022 at the Winter Gardens.
We will only run ceremonies if it is safe and practicable to do so.
All graduating and recently graduated students will have received an email and letter during the week commencing 22 March 2021, detailing this postponement.
We've also put together some Frequently Asked Questions to provide additional information.
Frequently asked questions
When will I get my results?
If you have studied a Lancaster University or Blackpool and The Fylde College degree you can access your results - and verified information about your academic and verified non-degree related achievements - online at gradintel.com, home to your Higher Education Academic Record (HEAR).
You will first need to have activated your HEAR account. If you have any difficulties accessing this information, please email TranscriptRequests@blackpool.ac.uk.
When will I receive my certificate?
Your certificate will be posted to you by the end of August.
If you have already graduated, and not received your certificate please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
If any of your personal details such as name, address, email address or phone number, have changed since you enrolled on your course, please get in touch as soon as possible by emailing email@example.com.
When will I officially have graduated?
While the graduation ceremony is postponed, you will still have graduated once you receive your confirmed degree results.
The graduation ceremonies are the ceremonial presentation of your degrees, and their delay has not affected your graduation date.
How will you contact me about my graduation?
We will contact graduates by letter and email, we will use the postal address and personal email details provided in your student record, if any details need updating please immediately email firstname.lastname@example.org.
While current students may still be able to access student email, we strongly recommend that you have a personal email address on file to ensure you receive the updates, as your B&FC account may expire after you have completed your studies.
Any important updates will be added to this page and sent out via email to graduates.
If you are expecting to attend an upcoming graduation ceremony and have not been contacted, please check your eligibility and contact details by emailing email@example.com.
If possible, please include your student number in your email to speed up any communication.
