In his career in the chemicals industry, Kenny has made a wide range of materials including pigments, paints, pharmaceuticals and plastics – products used in huge range of applications from shampoo to ships and from earphones to explosives. He has even sold sand to the Arabs!
Kenny graduated in mechanical engineering from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh in 1988. He is a chartered engineer and a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers. He has held engineering, operations and leadership roles with ICI, AstraZeneca, Avecia, Arch Chemicals, Excelsyn and Hempel Paints.
Kenny is now Operations Director at Victrex plc, the leading global manufacturer of high performance polymers, including the versatile VICTREX® PEEK polymer. Kenny also serves on the advisory board of the EPSRC Centre for Innovative Manufacturing in Continuous Manufacturing and Crystallisation.
Passionate about manufacturing and engineering, Kenny is proud to be part of a profession creating wealth and delivering value to society. He is actively engaged in promoting engineering as a career of choice for young people.
Kenny lives in East Lothian and is married with 2 children.
