Health, Safety and Environmental Manager for B&FC.
Joanne has worked at the College for seven years. She has a background in agricultural and within the scientific sector having spent a number of years working in the microbiology department of a commercial veterinary laboratory.
Joanne has worked in the education sector since 2002 previously working as a Technical Team Manager and Health and Safety Coordinator.
This role include the delivery of training to staff and students on health and safety and laboratory management.
Since joining B&FC Joanne work on promoting health and safety with students through the LOcHER project (Learning about Occupational Health by Experiencing Risk) has led to her collaboration with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) on a national steering group promoting innovative ways of improving health and safety awareness for young people entering the world of work.
A passion for promoting behavioural safety change has been the driver behind all aspects of Joanne’s work in her health and safety roles.
