Alan Cavill

Assistant Chief Executive Regeneration, Tourism & Culture, Blackpool Council.

Alan became Assistant Chief Executive of Regeneration, Tourism and Culture at Blackpool Council in July 2011. This area is responsible for Regeneration, Enterprise and Employment, Tourism, Business & Visitor Economy Strategy, Libraries, Heritage and the Illuminations department. He moved from being Assistant Director of Tourism and Economy a post he held for over 4 years at Blackpool Council.

He has spent 29 years working on various aspect and projects in regeneration in the North West including Salford Quays, Workington Ironworks, Preston Docks and East Manchester.

Before moving to Blackpool in 1997 to manage Blackpool Challenge Partnership he spent 15 years with Central Government in Manchester in the Department of Transport, Department of Environment and Government Office for the North West.

He is a member of the Institute of Economic Development and has a degree in chemistry from Salford University.

Interests include football and music.
